A 6.7 second occultation was recorded by Jonathan Bradshaw from Samford while John Broughton at Reedy Creek on the Gold Coast recorded a 6.4 second event. Both observations were recorded by video.

Discussion:
A shape model is available for (683) Lanzia but even with adjustments to the rotation period to show different profiles, the fit to the two observed chords is relatively poor. It is relatively unusual for an event involving an asteroid of this size to produce similar length chords from locations this far apart. It would appear that the centreline is approximately halfway between the sites.
