A 10.8 second occultation was recorded by Richard Brown from Clarence Town in northern New South Wales. This is Richards first successful asteroidal occultation observation.

The circle above is plotted at the expected 90 km diameter of (709) Fringilla. With only one chord it is not possible to determine whether Richard was north or south of the central line of the event.
