Discussion:
The ellipse above is plotted at the best fit axis ratio to the DAMIT model. With only one chord it is not possible to determine whether Dave was north or south of the central line of the event. However, assuming the updated prediction was approximately correct the longer than expected chord of about 300km would suggest that the chord might lie close to the central portion of the asteroid.
The figure below shows the AOTA analysis of the Tangra light curve of the occultation.
It is worth noting that this event again with the asteroid brighter than the star and a predicted mag drop of 0.19 is is clearly visible in the lightcurve. See the Amphirite even ealier this month for a lower mag drop prediction where no event was seen by the same observer. This suggests that events with mag drop of about 0.15 are near the boundary of observability.
