Discussion:
The circle above is plotted at the 12239 km diameter of Venus.
With 2 full and 2 partial chords we can be confident of the path of Venus and that it was
close of the predicted line.
Significant sources of error include:
Venus' atmosphere causing gradual extinction.
The D event being on the brightly lit side of Venus.
Even against the dark side the R is difficult to see (see Jonathan Bradshaw's image below).
The low altitude (14 Deg or less) of the observations causing
local refraction and poor seeing.
So the circle has been plotted on the predicted path.
The figure below shows a Limovie frame and 3 D plot of Jonathan's R.

The air was bouncing around and I can say it's the worst seeing where I have ever attempted an occultation recording. _______________________________ Observer Jonathan Bradshaw Location Samford Valley, Qld, Australia Longitude +152:50 Latitude -27:22 Altitude 80 m Datum WGS84 Telescope SCT including Cass and Mak Aperture 36 cm Seeing Strong flickering Clear Camera Type G-Star PAL/CCIR Camera Delay -0.04 Timing GPS - time inserted Video with frame analysis Disappearance 17:59:09.21 Reappearance 18:05:17.53 Comments: Apalling seeing, but R very clear to within 2 frames. D was largely obscured by bright limb, but likely to have happened within 15 seconds of last possible sighting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBEkCQF9BYA _______________________________ Observer John Broughton Location Reedy Creek, QLD, AU Longitude +153:23 Latitude -28:06 Altitude 66 m Datum WGS84 Telescope SCT including Cass and Mak Aperture 25 cm Seeing Strong flickering Clear Camera Type LN-300-11673 PAL/CCIR Camera Delay -0.05 Timing GPS - time inserted Video with frame analysis Disappearance Reappearance 18:05:16.50 Comments: The star emerged faintly 3s prior to the time stated (75km lower in the Venusian atmosphere), rising slowly in brightness before a more rapid ascent at the end. Actual exposure setting was 1/120. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zzva-lY6t-c&feature=youtu.be
