Discussion:
The circle above is plotted at the expected 126 km diameter of Atalante.
With no chords we cannot determine the actual path.
All observers were within the predicted path but high uncertainty made
it a long shot.

Observation details for MP (92) Undina By Star UCA 2U27859633 On 2009-05-16 at 19:17:43.0 _______________________________ Observer Dennis Lowe Location Gatton, Queensland, AU Longitude +152:21:27.1 Latitude -27:30:55.5 Altitude 39 m Datum WGS84 Telescope Refractor Aperture 10 cm Seeing Strong flickering Clear Timing GPS - time inserted Video with frame analysis Missed Comments: Wind fromWSW at 8 knots. Temp 3 degrees C. Camera GSTAR-EX at prime focus fitted with a .6X focal reducer. Integration rate set at X12 _______________________________ Observer Peter Anderson Location THE GAP,Brisbane, QLD,AU Longitude +152:55:57.9 Latitude -27:27:42.3 Altitude 170 m Datum WGS84 Telescope Newtonian Aperture 41 cm Seeing Steady Clear Timing Tape Recorder + time signal Visual, PE applied Missed Comments: Asteroid and star merged after 19hrs 00min and were clearly separating by 19hrs 30min. The asteroid was brighter than the star but there was NO discernable variation in brightness, particularly around the critical time so unless there is evidence to the contrary, I would be inclined to call this a miss. Naked eye though is not reliable for small drops. _______________________________ Observer J Broughton Location Reedy Creek,Reedy Creek, QLD 4227, Australia Longitude +153:23:52.9 Latitude -28:06:30.4 Altitude 66 m Datum WGS84 Telescope SCT Aperture 25 cm Seeing Steady Clear Timing GPS - time inserted Video with frame analysis Missed Comments: :Watec 120N+ using 4-frame integration.
